Moving Out of a Laboratory

Supervisory Personnel

Principal investigators, laboratory managers, and other supervisory personnel moving out of laboratories containing biological, chemical, or radioactive materials or equipment with known hazards are responsible for the proper management and/or disposal to ensure laboratories are left in a condition suitable for re-occupancy or renovation. Please complete the Laboratory Clearance Form to review the requirements and resources to successfully move out of an existing laboratory.

Non-Supervisory Personnel

Graduate, post-doctoral, and undergraduate students and other non-supervisory personnel performing research or teaching activities in laboratories containing biological, chemical, or radioactive materials are responsible for the proper management and/or disposal of their materials prior to leaving the lab or the University. Please complete the Housekeeping Procedures for Individuals Leaving a Laboratory to review the requirements and resources to successfully move out of an existing laboratory.
